WICHITA, Kan. - Textron Aviation Inc. in Wichita, Kan., announced the delivery of the first Cessna Citation Ascend to a retail customer, marking the midsize business jet’s entry into service. The Citation Ascend was announced in 2023 and received type certification from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) in November 2025. The aircraft features a new cockpit, performance improvements, and a flat-floor cabin.
The Citation Ascend is equipped with the Garmin G5000 avionics suite, which includes autothrottle technology, three 14-inch high-resolution displays, dual flight management systems, synthetic vision, advanced weather detection and avoidance, and cockpit voice and data satellite communications. Optional equipment includes a second Iridium data radio and controller-pilot data link communications to support transatlantic routing.

The aircraft accommodates up to 12 passengers and features a flat-floor cabin with enhanced acoustic treatment. Cabin upgrades include nearly 15 percent larger windows, wireless control of lighting, temperature, window shades, and entertainment, and multiple connectivity options. Standard connectivity includes Gogo U.S. Avance L3 Max Wi-Fi, with optional Avance L5 or Gogo Galileo HDX.
Performance and propulsion
The Citation Ascend is powered by two Pratt & Whitney Canada PW545D engines. Textron Aviation lists a maximum cruise speed of 441 knots true airspeed and a four-passenger range of 1,940 nautical miles. Full-fuel payload is 900 pounds.
The aircraft includes an unattended Honeywell RE100 XL auxiliary power unit designed to support preflight operations and reduce ground noise.
Support and maintenance
Textron Aviation provides aftermarket support through 20 company-owned service centers, 21 authorized service facilities for Citation jets, and more than 80 mobile service units worldwide. Parts support includes seven distribution centers and 17 stockrooms, offering same-day shipping for more than 150,000 part numbers.

The Citation Ascend has an 18-month or 800-hour airframe maintenance interval. Warranty coverage includes five years or 5,000 hours for Garmin avionics, five years or 3,000 hours for engines, and two years for paint and interior. Engine overhaul intervals extend to 6,000 hours, with 3,000-hour hot section inspections.
Diagnostic tools include Pratt & Whitney Canada’s FAST box and Textron Aviation’s LinxUs system, which provides fault notifications and troubleshooting support. Optional engine coverage is available through the PowerAdvantage Premium program.
