Rugged Micro-D connectors for harsh-environment applications like space and avionics introduced by Littlefuse
CHICAGO – Littelfuse Inc. in Chicago is introducing the MDMA Micro-D connector with removable crimp contacts for harsh-environment applications.
This design can enable users to create custom cable harnesses with no soldering or shrink tubing required for applications like space equipment; satellite harnesses; launchers and payloads; avionics; military; and electrical wiring interconnects.
The MDMA-MDMB Micro-D microminiature compatible connectors offer benefits such as enabling users to choose harness lengths to suit each application; saving weight for space missions; compatibility with existing Micro-D connectors and wire gauges from AWG24 to AWG28; compliance with ESA/ESCC 3401 and MIL-83513; and no tendency for outgassing.
The MDMA-MDMB's Micropin contact system uses a twist pin spring male contact and tubular socket contact to provide removable crimp-type contacts.
Dedicated tools are available to make the retention test of each contact in the connectors and remove the contacts from the connectors for cable extraction.
The MDMA and MDMB Micro-D connectors are available in 9-, 15-, 21-, 25-, 31-, 37-, and 51-pin versions in nickel or gold plating. For more information contact Littlefuse online at www.littelfuse.com.
