Curtiss-Wright Controls Defense Solutions introduces rugged video switching, recording & distribution solution

Fort Lauderdale, Fla., Feb., 23, 2012. Curtiss-Wright Controls Defense Solutions introduced the VRD1-CC rugged video switching, recording and distribution solution. The VRD1-CC meets several standards, including DO-160F, STANAG 2895, DO-160F, MIL-STD-461F and CEI 61000-4-52.

The VRD1-CC features 18 video inputs with switching, scaling and windowing. It has six RGB analog/DVI digital inputs with 1920x1200 pixels at 60 frames per second (fps), six 3G-SDI digital inputs in 1080p at 60 fps and six composite analog inputs, CVBS/PAL/NTSC. Each input includes 3G-SDI embedded audio.

In addition to the inputs, the VRD1-CC features 12 video outputs. Six RGB analog/DVI digital outputs with 1920x1200 pixels at 60 fps and six 3G-SDI digital outputs that are 1080p at 60 fps.

The VRD1-CC also features MPEG4 H.264 video compression and decompression that it can use to compress up to six high-definition channels in real-time.

The device offers connection to networks with four Gigabit Ethernet ports, Def Stan 00-82 and RTP and UDP.

For storage, the VRD1-CC can use two removable solid state drives.

The VRD1-CC allows any input to be routed to any number of available outputs, and features a browser-based Graphical User Interface (GUI) that allows any authorized user connected over Ethernet to control the functional units within the VRD1-CC.

The device is also open to custom controls, allowing user applications to associate a button press with a sequence of commands.
