Eutelsat introduces Intellian OW7MP manpack terminal for OneWeb LEO network
PARIS - Eutelsat in Paris announced the launch of a military-grade manpack terminal, the OW7MP, developed by Intellian Technologies, designed to provide portable, resilient connectivity over the OneWeb low-Earth-orbit (LEO) satellite network.
The Intellian OW7MP manpack terminal enables government and defense users to securely access Eutelsat’s global OneWeb LEO constellation in environments where traditional communications infrastructure is unavailable, degraded, or denied. Designed for dismounted and expeditionary use, the terminal fits within a standard military rucksack and features one-touch network acquisition for rapid setup and link establishment in the field.
The system delivers high-speed, low-latency connectivity characteristic of LEO satellite networks, enabling beyond-line-of-sight communications for mission operations in remote and contested environments. It supports both communications on the move (COTM) and communications on the pause (COTP), allowing flexibility across stationary and mobile use cases.
The OW7MP can operate in GPS-denied environments using resilient global navigation satellite system (GNSS) capabilities (R-GNSS), enabling continued acquisition and tracking in contested electromagnetic environments. The terminal also incorporates transmit mute (Tx Mute) functionality to reduce the risk of detection or interference during operations.
Eutelsat says the OW7MP expands how its OneWeb LEO services can be delivered to government and defense users, enhancing operational flexibility and resilience for secure communications in austere and infrastructure-denied environments.
