The IBM Project DataWorks is designed to enable business leaders and data professionals to collect, organize, govern and secure data easily so they can gain the insights they need to become a cognitive business.
Businesses today understand the competitive advantage of gaining insights from data, yet obtaining those insights is complex and requires work from skilled data experts who work in silos with disconnected tools and data services, IBM officials say.
Since data never is static, moreover, businesses must iterate their data models continually to capitalize on the most relevant up-to-date insights.
Project DataWorks can help businesses break down these barriers by connecting all data and insights. Data experts can work together on an integrated self-service platform to share common data sets in a trusted say that helps iterate data rapidly.
Instead of spending time finding and preparing data for analysis, users can focus their efforts on uncovering business-changing insights, IBM officials say. Available on the Bluemix IBM cloud platform, Project DataWorks can help data professionals collaborate by tapping into Apache Spark, IBM Watson Analytics, and the IBM Data Science Experience.
Project DataWorks is designed to help organizations automate the deployment of data assets using cognitive machine learning and Apache Spark; ingest data quickly from 50 to hundreds of gigabits per second from enterprise databases, Internet of things, weather, and social media.
The new system also can use an open ecosystem of more than 20 partners and technologies, such as Confluent, Continuum Analytics, Galvanize, Alation, NumFOCUS, RStudio, and Skymind. The new platform was designed with the same approach as The Weather Company to help with decision-making for businesses and consumers.
This includes a flexible data architecture, rapid ingestion of multiple data sources, and internet-scale data and analytics. For more information contact IBM online at www.ibm.com.
