Pentek offers Cobalt A/D and D/A converter data-acquisition boards in 6U and 3U CompactPCI
UPPER SADDLE RIVER, N.J., 23 May 2011. Pentek Inc. in Upper Saddle River, N.J., is introducing its Cobalt A/D converter and D/A converter boards in the 6U and 3U CompactPCI form factors, which can give system designers access to Pentek's signal-acquisition technology featuring Xilinx Inc. Virtex-6 field programmable gate array (FPGA). All Pentek CompactPCI signal-acquisition Cobalt boards have dedicated direct-memory-access (DMA) channels and memory buffers for each I/O stream, multichannel multiboard synchronization, and customizable Virtex-6 FPGA for digital signal processing.
A bridge chip maps the Cobalt's serial PCI Express interface to the parallel PCI bus. Developers can capitalize on the Virtex-6 FPGAs to help reduce data transfer rates. Pentek's Cobalt software and FPGA tools are available, including ReadyFlow libraries with drivers for Linux, Windows, and VxWorks.
The Pentek GateFlow FPGA tool enables users to install custom algorithms on the FPGA. GateFlow enables systems designers to install signal-processing for wideband communications, radar, signals intelligence, and beam forming.
