The unit has the Intel Atom D2550 processor and a choice of either 4 or 6 Gigabit Ethernet LAN with bypass function. The Intel Atom processor runs at 1.86 GHz with low power consumption at 10 Watts.
The D2550 processor is available in dual-core design. Both processor options are partnered with an Intel ICH10R I/O controller. Wi-Fi capability is optional.
The PL-80550 comes in a rugged aluminum chassis with six LAN throughput. The desktop-form-factor unit measures 8.2 by 5.9 by 1.5 inches, operates in temperatures from 0 to 40 degrees Celsius, and has variable weight.
System I/O includes 2x USB 2.0, and RJ-45 console port plus LED indicators to monitor power and storage activities for local system management, maintenance and diagnostics.
The PL-80550 supports one mini-card socket, and offers an optional onboard Cavium Nitrox Lite CN505 chip to provide hardware-level cryptographic acceleration. The device is RoHS, FCC and CE compliant.
