CONCORD, Calif. – Power supplies expert Calex Mfg. Co. Inc. in Concord Calif., is announcing UL60950 approval for the company's FXW 1000-Watt full brick series DC-DC converters for military vehicles in applications such as autonomous vehicle computing, vision systems, mobile security equipment, ground-based COTS systems.
Efficiencies for the FXW run as high as 96 percent. The FXW measures 4.7 by 2.5 by 0.52 inches. The FXW series has a 9-to-36-volt input range in a 1000-Watt full brick.
For 12- and 24-volt battery powered applications, the FXW series offers output voltages of 12, 24, 28, 48, and 53 volts DC. All models are fully isolated input to output. The switching frequency of the FXW is 200 kHz.
All models feature a trim range of +10 percent to -40 percent as well as ON/OFF control. The current draw for the FXW in the OFF state is 2 milliamps. Line and load regulation for the FXW is 0.05 percent.

The operating baseplate temperature of all models is -40 to 105 degrees Celsius. Threaded through holes enable mounting or the addition of a heat sink for extended temperature operation.
