AUGSBURG, Germany – Kontron in Augsburg, Germany, is introducing the bCL6 Computer-on-Module in the COM Express basic Type 6 embedded computing board form factor for surveillance and security, communications, industrial control, medical imaging, digital signage, and professional gaming and entertainment.

It is based on processors of 8th Gen Intel Core/Xeon E microprocessor family with a mobile chipset (CM246/QM370 PCH). The COM Express-bCL6 offers industry-grade quality and flexible application scenarios. The module is available in different processor variants, including hexacore CPU versions.

The COM Express basic Type 6 form factor measures 125 by 95 millimeters. All variants are available with as much as 64 gigabytes non-ECC/ECC DDR4 storage, a third and fourth slot can be equipped on demand.

The Kontron COM Express module supports the fast Intel Optane systems acceleration for quick high-capacity mass storage data transfer, as well as fast storage technology NVMe SSD in a compact design. USB 3.1. support with as much as 10 gigabits per second and USB Type C support offer twice the bandwidth as compared to USB 3.0 for fast data transfer.

The COM Express-bCL6 also benefits from the graphics performance of the 8th generation Intel processors. Four 4K displays can be controlled, three of them separately. UHD streaming supports high-quality video applications.
