Pixus expands rugged chassis portfolio with horizontal-loading enclosures
KITCHENER, Ontario - Pixus Technologies in Kitchener, Ontario, has introduced a new series of rugged 19-inch rackmount enclosures designed for horizontal loading of embedded computing modules and systems. The enclosures feature front-to-rear airflow and support configurations based on OpenVPX, SOSA-aligned, VME, and custom architectures.
The new chassis family is available in 2U, 4U, 5U, and 6U heights, with multiple depth options to accommodate different system requirements. The designs support Rear Transition Modules (RTMs) and can be configured for 3U, 6U, or hybrid Eurocard module architectures. Deeper enclosure options are available for applications requiring additional space for integrated electronics and peripherals.
The rugged chassis are designed for military and aerospace environments, including considerations for shock, vibration, environmental protection, and electromagnetic interference requirements associated with MIL-STD-810 and MIL-STD-461. Available options include multiple power and I/O configurations, as well as alternative side-to-side cooling architectures.
Pixus also provides SOSA-aligned backplanes, chassis management solutions, and rugged commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) systems supporting a range of VITA and PICMG standards.
