Acromag introduces QMC470 digital I/O mezzanine module for embedded systems
WIXOM, Mich. - Acromag has introduced the QMC470, a TTL-level digital I/O mezzanine module designed to provide high-density general-purpose input/output capability for embedded systems used in industrial, laboratory, defense, and aerospace applications.
Built to the VITA 93 QMC standard, the QMC470 provides 40 bidirectional digital I/O channels in a compact single-width mezzanine form factor. The module is designed for applications requiring monitoring and control of large numbers of digital signals while minimizing system size and integration complexity.
The QMC470 features TTL-compatible inputs and CMOS-compatible open-drain outputs, along with per-channel interrupt capability supporting programmable change-of-state, low-to-high, and high-to-low event detection. The module also includes programmable debounce and input hysteresis features to improve signal detection reliability in electrically noisy environments.
Additional capabilities include output readback registers for closed-loop status monitoring, failsafe output behavior during power-up and reset conditions, and integrated protection features for operation in demanding environments.
The module uses a 26-by-78.25-millimeter footprint and provides access to all 40 single-ended signals available on a single-width mezzanine card. The compact design enables high-density I/O configurations on carrier cards supporting embedded architectures including VPX, CompactPCI, PCI Express expansion, and VNX+ systems.
A PCI Express interface connects the QMC470 to the host computer, while support for conduction-cooled implementations enables integration into rugged, fanless embedded systems requiring thermal management in space-constrained environments.
