Harris opens trusted cloud computing center to help safeguard crucial cloud infrastructure

MELBOURNE, Fla., 31 May 3011. Harris Corp. in Melbourne, Fla., is opening a data center to provide trusted cloud computing for enterprise clients that operate important computer resources through a secure cloud service. The data center, called the Harris Cyber Integration Center (CIC), offers secure computer services that meet NIST 800-53 High, ISO 27001, and SAS 70, as well as compliance and automation frameworks such as S-CAP, HIPAA, PCI, and Sarbanes-Oxley, Harris officials say.

The data center, called the Harris Cyber Integration Center (CIC), offers secure computer services that meet NIST 800-53 High, ISO 27001, and SAS 70, as well as compliance and automation frameworks such as S-CAP, HIPAA, PCI, and Sarbanes-Oxley, Harris officials say.The Harris Cyber Integration Center is a 140,000-square-foot facility is located in the Mid-Atlantic region, Harris (NYSE: HRS) officials say. The facility has Tier 3 certification for high availability by the Uptime Institute, and LEED Silver certification for energy and environmental efficiency.

Harris Trusted Enterprise Cloud is a infrastructure-as-a-service designed to help clients extend and enhance their IT operations. The Trusted Enterprise Cloud has proprietary trust enablement technologies that monitor assure, and attest that the software and configurations in the cloud operate according to specification and have not been compromised, company officials say.
