ITT Fort Wayne division changes name to ITT Communications Systems

FORT WAYNE, Ind., 31 Jan. 2008. Leaders of the ITT Aerospace/Communications Division in Fort Wayne, Ind., is changing the division's name to ITT Communications Systems to reflect its status as a full-service communications company with a strong market focus, company officials say.

FORT WAYNE, Ind., 31 Jan. 2008. Leaders of the ITT Aerospace/Communications Division in Fort Wayne, Ind., is changing the division's name to ITT Communications Systems to reflect its status as a full-service communications company with a strong market focus, company officials say.

The name change is effective tomorrow, 1 Feb. 2008. ITT Aerospace/Communications specializes in wireless networking systems for tactical military and government systems. The Fort Wayne company provides military VHF radios including the Single-Channel Ground and Airborne Radio System (SINCGARS) and Advanced Tactical Communications Systems (ATCS) families with nearly one-half million systems in use in 34 countries worldwide.

The new ITT Communications Systems is involved in ad-hoc networking, having fielded a self-organizing, self maintaining data system to more than 15 nations, and is developing the Soldier Radio Waveform (SRW) for network-centric operations.
