Marine Corps sends Harris $118 million order for Falcon II software-defined radios

ROCHESTER, N.Y., 5 June 2008. The Harris Corp. RF Communications segment in Rochester, N.Y., won in $118 million in orders to supply the U.S. Marine Corps with Falcon II AN/PRC-117(F) multiband manpack software-defined radios.

ROCHESTER, N.Y., 5 June 2008. The Harris Corp. RF Communications segment in Rochester, N.Y., won in $118 million in orders to supply the U.S. Marine Corps with Falcon II AN/PRC-117(F) multiband manpack software-defined radios.

Under terms of the contract, the Marine Corps will almost double its quantities of the widely deployed AN/PRC-117(F)radio that delivers multiband/multimission Type-1 secure voice and data communications. The Marines are acquiring the radios under a $350 million indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity contract.

The AN/PRC-117F(C) radio covers the 30-512 MHz frequency band using military standard voice and data waveforms. The radio features tactical satellite voice and data capabilities. For more information contact Harris online at www.rfcomm.harris.com.
