Boeing to enhance information services capabilities with acquisition of Inmedius

SEATTLE, 27 April 2012. Boeing [NYSE: BA] announced that it has signed an agreement to acquire Inmedius, a provider of software applications and services for managing and sharing information and learning content. Inmedius will be integrated into Boeing subsidiary Continental DataGraphics (CDG) in support of Boeing's Digital Airline strategy.

Inmedius offers applications and services to create, manage, capture and deploy information and learning assets. Inmedius also provides content management services to customers.

The acquisition will enable Boeing to offer an expanded portfolio of technical services and solutions for aerospace, defense and manufacturing markets. Inmedius solutions will also bring new efficiencies to technical content management across Boeing's commercial and defense programs.

Inmedius has approximately 75 employees and is headquartered in Pittsburgh, PA, with field office locations in Maryland and Colorado and the U.K. and India. It has a customer base drawn from commercial aerospace and defense businesses, including Boeing and Airbus, as well as other manufacturing and service industries. Inmedius President and CEO Gary L. Schaffer will continue to lead the business, reporting to CDG President and CEO David Malmo.

Inmedius is a privately held company and terms of the acquisition have not been disclosed. The acquisition is expected to be completed by the second quarter of 2012.
