L-3 Coleman to provide target for Arrow missile interceptor mission

ORLANDO, Fla., 4 Dec. 2007. L-3 Coleman Aerospace in Orlando, Fla., won a U.S. Air Force contract to provide a realistic ballistic missile target for the Arrow anti-missile system improvement program.

The L-3 target, called the short-range air launch target (SRALT), uses air launch to relieve the test constraints of fixed ground launch sites. Coleman Aerospace has been successful in previous SRALT launches for the Arrow program.

Coleman Aerospace will provide one launch vehicle as well as mission management services, under supervision of the Sounding Rockets Program 2 (SRP-2), which is managed by the Air Force Space and Missile Systems Center (SMC), Space Development and Test Wing. The contract will be performed over a 20-month period.
