HI-35930: Lightning Protected ARINC 429 Protocol IC with SPI Host Bus Interface

May 2, 2022
Dual line receivers meet the lightning requirements of specification RTCA/DO160G Section 22 Level 3 Pin Injection Test Waveforms without using external components. Features SPI host interface and integrated line driver for single-supply 3.3V operation.

The HI-35930 provides a lightning-protected drop-in replacement for Holt’s HI-3593, enabling customers to add lightning protection to existing designs with a minimum of re-qualification or re-use existing software on new designs. It is an addition to Holt’s ARINC 429 protocol ICs with SPI host bus interface. Dual line receivers meet the lightning requirements of specification RTCA/DO160G Section 22 Level 3 Pin Injection Test Waveforms without the need for any external components. Aside from the addition of lightning protection, the device features an integrated line driver and on-board DC/DC converter for single-supply 3.3V operation.

Features:

●     ARINC specification 429 compliant

●      Single 3.3V power supply operation

●      On-chip analog line driver and line receivers connect directly to the ARINC 429 Bus

●      Integrated DO-160G lightning protection (Level 3) on both line receivers

●      Programmable label recognition for 256 labels

●      32 x 32 Receive FIFO with Priority Label buffers for each Receive Channel

●      32 x 32 Transmit FIFO

●      Independent data rates for Transmit and Receive channels

●      10MHz four-wire Serial Peripheral Interface

●      Label bit-order control

●      32nd transmit bit can be data or parity

●      Self test mode

●      Low power

●      Industrial and extended temperature ranges available

A development kit with example software is available to demonstrate key features of the device:

●      ADK-35930: ARINC 429 3.3V Dual Receiver, Single Transmitter Board
