ARINC 429 databus line driver for safety-critical commercial avionics applications introduced by Holt
MISSION VIEJO, Calif. – Holt Integrated Circuits in Mission Viejo, Calif., is introducing the HI-8598 ARINC 429 line driver for use in safety-critical commercial avionics where designers must isolate any faults on the bus completely from mission-critical electronics.
The HI-8598 is part of Holt's galvanically isolated avionics products, and is compatible with 3.3-volt logic and uses a patented capacitive isolation and power regulation to provide 800-volt galvanic isolation between the analog line driver and the logic interface.
This ensures isolation between the ARINC 429 data bus and sensitive digital circuitry for systems that ultimately will require FAA or EASA DO-254 DAL A certification.
The HI-8598 converts logic signals to ARINC 429 and provides 37.5 Ohm or 5 Ohm resistors in series with each ARINC output to enable use of external resistors for lightning protection.
It is available in industrial -40-to-85-degree Celsius or extended 55-to-125 C temperature ranges with optional burn-in. The device comes in a compact 18-pin SOIC-WB package. Samples are available on request.
