Akron, OH, February 20, 2024 — ANZER, a full-service contract electronic designer and manufacturer, is pleased to announce it has been awarded a contract from The Ohio State University for the RALPH (Research Assignment Learner for the Prehospital Setting) project. RALPH is a portable reminder device that will help Emergency Medical Services (EMS) conduct clinical research trials. The device will initially support research studies of paramedic airway management in children.

“By being awarded the design and production of such an important research device, we are both excited and honored,” commented Jay Mendpara, CEO. “Having met the project’s lead scientist, Dr. Henry Wang, it was obvious how important the success of this study was to him and the project overall. It intensified our desire to be a part of the RALPH development”.

RALPH will first be used in the National Institutes of Health-funded Pedi-PART (Pediatric Prehospital Airway Resuscitation Trial) investigative study. It will occur at approximately 65 EMS agencies in 10 cities in the United States. The first units are targeted to be field-tested sometime during the 2nd quarter of 2024. 2,000 production units will follow during the full deployment of this novel and highly portable indicator.  Click here to learn about the research behind Pedi-PART.
