PLAINVIEW, N.Y., 20 June 2010. Aeroflex Plainview in Plainview, N.Y., is introducing the radiation-hardened VRG8691/92 low dropout (LDO) 7.5-amp adjustable positive regulator for orbiting satellite applications that need low power supply voltages with high load currents. The rad-hard power/analog electronics device is for supplying power to field-programmable gate arrays (FPGAs), microprocessors, application-specific integrated circuits (ASICs), memory chipsets, and other space applications.

PLAINVIEW, N.Y., 20 June 2010. Aeroflex Plainview in Plainview, N.Y., is introducing the radiation-hardened VRG8691/92 low dropout (LDO) 7.5-amp adjustable positive regulator for orbiting satellite applications that need low power supply voltages with high load currents.

The rad-hardpower/analog electronics device is for supplying power to field-programmable gate arrays (FPGAs), microprocessors, application-specific integrated circuits (ASICs), memory chipsets, and other embedded computing in space applications.

The VRG8691/92 power electronics device is part of the Aeroflex HiRel voltage regulator family, has an adjustable 1-to-3.3-volt output, and is a DSCC Class K product available to DSCC SMD 5962-09237.

The VRG8691/92 has a low dropout voltage of less than 0.5 volts; tightly regulated 1.0-3.3-volt output voltage (set with two external resistors); internal current limit protection; controllable power-up sequence with enable input and slow-start capability; 100 kilorads total-dose radiation resistance; -55 to 125 degrees Celsius operating temperature range; thru-hole and surface mount package styles; and availability to MIL-PRF-38534 Class K.

Aeroflex's voltage regulator VRG86xx line offers 18 versions covering either positive or negative adjustable voltages in compact single and dual configurations. For more information contact Aeroflex Plainview online at www.aeroflex.com/voltreg.
