Digital multimeters with USB and other interfaces introduced by Saelig for benchtop test and measurement
FAIRPORT, N.Y., 19 Dec. 2016. Saelig Co. in Fairport, N.Y., is introducing the 1908 and 1908P digital multimeters (DMMs) with USB and other optional interfaces for high-resolution dual-measurement benchtop test and measurement applications.
Additional features include frequency, capacitance, and temperature measurements, as well as math and data logging. These DMMs include internal rechargeable batteries, so the meters will function on location.
When precision measurements are required, handheld portable multimeters may not be sufficient for the task. The portable 1908 and 1908P DMMs have a USB interface for remote control and read-back, while the 1908P device adds RS232, GPIB, and LXI-compliant LAN interfaces.
The DMMs feature two displays for showing different parameters simultaneously. Quick-response auto-ranging for measurement parameters ensures the best possible resolution with optional manual ranging.
AC voltages can be displayed in dB as well as voltage, and the 'True RMS' design gives accurate measurements regardless of the waveform shape.
Frequency measurement with accuracy better than 0.01 percent is available for signals from 10 Hz to 120 kHz. A reciprocal counting technique provides as much as 0.01 Hz resolution with fast updates.
The capacitance measurement mode has five ranges to 120 microfarads. The linearized temperature measurement capability in degrees Celsius or Fahrenheit suits PT100 or PT1000 platinum resistance detectors (RTDs).
These DMMs also feature linear scaling with offset to convert the output of a transducer to a scaled direct readout of a physical parameter such as temperature or weight.
