PHOENIX – Honeywell Aerospace in Phoenix is introducing the HGuide i400 inertial measurement unit (IMU) for navigation and guidance capability in aerospace and defense manned and unmanned aircraft, land vehicles, and surface ships.

The HGuide i400 IMU has a gyro bias repeatability of less than one degree per hour. It measures 28 by 25 millimeters. IMUs consist of gyroscopes for measuring rotational motion and accelerometers for lateral motion assessment. Even the slightest shifts in position and attitude become measurable and recordable.

The HGuide i400 is an advanced micro-electromechanical system (MEMS)-based IMU in a compact, lightweight, and rugged form factor. The device is equipped with industry-standard communication interfaces, and offers a wide-input voltage range.

The navigation and guidance device incorporates MEMS gyroscopes and accelerometers while utilizing a mechanical design to help mitigate unwanted inputs commonly encountered in real-world scenarios.

The HGuide i400 outputs Honeywell proprietary binary data (HGNSI) per other Honeywell HGuide IMUs. Honeywell support also includes access to ROS drivers, SDK and HGuide Data Reader. Manufactured and dispatched from a Honeywell facility, the HGuide i400 is generally accessible without export controls.
