LE HAILLAN, France – Gaia Converter in Le Haillan, France, is introducing the ultra-wide-input voltage MGDD-80 series DC/DC converter for military and airborne power electronics applications.

The MGDD-80 series 9-to-60- and 80-volt transient input voltage range is to comply with Mil-Std-1275, 704, or DO-160 standards without an additional front-end protection device. This comes from Gaia's proprietary switching techniques while also keeping efficiency of more than 90 percent.

The power supply has two outputs for parallel, serial, or symmetrical operation, each of 5, 12, 15, and 24 volts. It can cover needs like single 5-to-48-volt output, and 15- or 2-by-24-volt outputs for example.

Packaged in a 2-by-1.6-inch housing, the MGDD-80 series operates in temperatures from -55 to 105 degrees Celsius, and is potted to fit rugged military and airborne environmental conditions.

The DC/DC converter is protected with zero-to-full-load regulation, trim, synchro and On/Off capability, adjustable UVLO, soft start, embedded EMI filter, as well as over-current and over-temperature protection. It can be synchronized and paralleled for added power or N+1 redundancy.

The MGDD-80 series does not use an optocoupler. For more information contact Gaia Converter online at www.gaia-converter.com.
