LE HAILLAN, France, 4 Jan. 2017. Gaia Converter in Le Haillan, France, is introducing the MGDDI-06 series rugged ultra-wide-input-voltage DC-DC converter power supplies for military, airborne, transportation, and railway applications.

The MGDDI-06 series has a 12-to-160-volt input range to cover typical battery and bus voltages at once, including 24-, 28-, 36-, 48-, 72-, 96-, 110-, and 125-volt inputs with the same device, including transients.

Gaia engineers achieve this performance from the company's proprietary switching techniques, which also enables these devices to keep efficiency as high as 90 percent.

The MGDDI-06 series has two isolated outputs for parallel, serial or symmetrical operation of 5, 12, 15 and 24 volts, and can cover a wide variety of needs such as single 5-to-48-volt output, +&- 15- or 2x24- outputs of 3 Watts each for example.

Packaged in a 0.33-inch and a 1-by-0.75-inch housing, the MGDDI-06 series operates in temperatures from -40 to 100 degrees Celsius, and are potted to fit rugged environmental conditions.

The units offer full load regulation, trim & on/off capability, adjustable U-voltLO, soft start, embedded EMI filter, as well as over-current and over-temperature protection.

The power supplies comply with MIL-STD-704, 1275, DO-160, EN50155/55022, or equivalent. The MGDDI-06 series do not use optocouplers in the feedback loop.
