EAST BRUNSWICK, N.J. –RF and microwave amplifier specialist Triad RF Systems in East Brunswick, N.J., is introducing the TA1167 compact 5-Watt RF amplifier for coded orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (COFDM) video links on unmanned aircraft and digital television broadcasting.
The TA1167 offers a compact and efficient design that enables systems integrators to design camera-back installations or other applications that are with demands for small size, weight, and power (SWaP) requirements.
The RF amplifier is capable of 1-Watt COFDM to achieve a -30dB adjacent channel power ratio (ACPR), which is the ratio between the total power adjacent channel (intermodulation signal) to the main channel's power (useful signal).
COFDM is a modulation form that meets requirements for terrestrial broadcasting channels. COFDM has the ability to deal with high levels of multi-path propagation, and uses a wide spread of delays between the received signals.
The Triad RF TA1167 amplifier operates at frequencies from 6100 to 7200 MHz, has a power output of 37 dBm, offers gain of 10 dB, has gain flatness of 1 ± dB, input return loss of -10 dB, supply voltage of 11 to 13 volts DC, and a DC current draw of 1.6 amps.
The device measures 3.75 by 1.9 by 0.49 inches, has SMA-F/SMA-F RF connectors, and a nine-pin Micro D DC and control connector. For more information contact Triad RF Systems online at http://triadrf.com.
