FOUNTAIN INN, S.C. – AVX Corp. in Fountain Inn, S.C., is introducing the rugged GEQ series RC equalizers for military, electronic warfare (EW), space, test and measurement, and instrumentation applications.

These EIA 0402 and 1005 metric equalizers combine high-performance tantalum nitride (TaN) resistive elements and silicon-oxygen-nitrogen (SiON) capacitive elements with AVX's proprietary automotive-qualified glass-sandwich FLEXITERM surface-mount technology, which provides an extra measure of protection against flexure damage during installation.

The GEQ series rugged equalizers are manufactured with 100 percent laser trimming to achieve tight tolerances and offer a 0.5-millimeter profile, a 125-milliwatt power rating, resistance values spanning 10 to 50 Ohms, and capacitance values extending from 1 to 50 picofarads.

The power electronics devices are rated for military operating temperatures of -55 to 125 degrees Celsius and are compliant with RoHS guidelines.

The ultraminiature 0402 case sizes measure 1 by 0.5 by-0.5 millimeters plus-or-minus 0.10-millimeter, and their Ag/epoxy FLEXITERM NiSn-plated terminations are 0.25-millimeter plus-or-minus 0.15-millimeter wide. Additional EIA case sizes and RC combinations are available. GEQ series RC equalizers are packaged on tape and reel.
