CONCORD, Calif., 13 April 2014. Green Watt Power in Concord, Calif., is introducing the rugged 300 Watt EVD series of DC-DC converters for electric vehicle applications. Green Watt is a division of Calex Mfg. Co.

Two input ranges for these power electronics devices are available to accommodate a variety of battery sources: 30 to 65 volts DC and 60 to 120 volts DC. The output voltages available are 14.2 volts DC and 13.5 volts DC.

All models are housed in a rugged package that measures 7.48 by 2.99 by 1.71 inches. The baseplate of the EVD 300 models is for bulkhead or firewall mounting of the DC-DC.

The module comes in a encapsulated waterproof IP67 enclosure. Flying leads are available to accommodate a variety of a connectors. Delphi Metri-Pack input and output connectors are available as an option.

All models are isolated input to output. The isolation voltage is 2250 volts DC. Efficiencies run as high as 91 percent. Each model has over voltage protection, short circuit protection, over temperature protection and remote ON/OFF.

All models are RoHS compliant, have five-year warranties, and reverse battery protection. The mean time between failures per MIL-HDBK-217F is 150,000 hours.

The operating ambient temperature rating for the EVD 300 series is -40 to 50 degrees Celsius, and the storage temperature -40 to 70 C. All models meet on-vehicle magnetic field and ESD requirements per EN 6100-6-2 and are designed to meet UL 1950.
