India's SpiceJet launches new in-flight entertainment service

GURUGRAM, India -- SpiceJet is looking to separate itself from regional competitors by launching what it says is the first free in-flight entertainment system to be offered by a budget Indian carrier.

GURUGRAM, India -- SpiceJet is looking to separate itself from regional competitors by launching what it says is the first free in-flight entertainment system to be offered by a budget Indian carrier.

The complimentary service, called "SpicEngage", is available now on all of the company's domestic and international flights, offering connectivity via passengers' own handheld devices.

"I am excited to announce the launch of our new in-flight entertainment system, SpicEngage, which will vastly improve the onboard experience of our flyers," said Ajay Singh, SpiceJet chair and managing director. "Passengers can now use their own phones and tablets onboard SpiceJet to watch their favorite shows, play games, read and do much more."
