Summary Points:

  • The recorder installs easily as a fit-form-function replacement for legacy 2-hour CVRs.
  • Integration is managed through an Airbus service bulletin to ensure compatibility.
  • The system supports ED-112B audio standards and includes RIPS options for reduced wiring and weight.

TOULOUSE, France - Acron Aviation, a global provider of aerospace safety systems in St. Petersburg, Fla., has partnered with Airbus in Toulouse, France, to deliver an upgrade solution for Airbus operators worldwide featuring Acron’s 25-hour cockpit voice recorder (CVR), the SRVIVR25.

Acron notes that its SRVIVR25 is the only 25-hour CVR approved and qualified by Airbus to date and is fully compliant with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Reauthorization Act requirements and European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) CVR regulations.

The collaboration enables airlines to meet regulatory mandates with minimal operational disruption. The SRVIVR25 is designed for integration as a fit-form-function replacement for legacy 2-hour CVRs, regardless of manufacturer, simplifying installation and reducing aircraft downtime.

Installation and supply of the SRVIVR25 are managed through an Airbus service bulletin to ensure integration with existing audio panels, cockpit microphones, and datalink recording systems. Acron says standardized part numbers across new production and retrofit installations support common spares, simplify maintenance, and ensure compatibility with existing ground support equipment for rapid and secure data access.

The SRVIVR25 supports high-capacity recording and is aligned with upcoming ED-112B audio standards. The unit also includes advanced diagnostics and optional versions with an integrated Recorder Independent Power Supply (RIPS), reducing wiring, space, and weight while streamlining upgrades across diverse fleets.

"This collaboration with Airbus ensures operators have access to our pioneering SRVIVR25 CVR, a product that sets industry standards and is fully certified to meet the evolving regulatory landscape," said Alan Crawford, chief executive officer of Acron Aviation. "SRVIVR25 not only helps operators meet compliance requirements but also future-proofs their fleets through simplified installation and long-term reliability."
