Marine Corps picks Crystal servers for communication system

HIAWATHA, Iowa, 25 August 2005. Crystal Group Inc. is pleased to announce that 55 of their CIS100X servers are part of the Joint Enhanced Core Communications System (JECCS), recently adopted by the U.S. Marine Corps and being built by EDO Corp.

HIAWATHA, Iowa, 25 August 2005. Crystal Group Inc. is pleased to announce that 55 of their CIS100X servers are part of the Joint Enhanced Core Communications System (JECCS), recently adopted by the U.S. Marine Corps and being built by EDO Corp.

The CIS100X will be housed in an S-788 shelter, which is then mounted on an M1097 HMMWV (High Mobility Multipurpose-Wheeled Vehicle). The HMMWV is a heavy
variant cargo and troop carrier used to transport equipment, materials, and/or personnel.

The JECCS system is a telecommunications system that allows deployed military personnel to establish voice, video, and data network connectivity when switching from land and sea. Its primary mission is to smooth out the transition period units experience when information is being switched from sea to land coordinates and vice versa.

The JECCS system will use Crystal's CIS100X mobile network server in the data networks.
