Thales USA in Arlington, Va., has completed the acquisition of the Visionixhelmet-mounted display (HMD) and InterSensemotion tracking businesses formerly owned by Gentex Corp. in Zeeland, Mich., and is operating the combined acquisitions as Thales Visionix Inc.,a wholly-owned subsidiary of Thales.
The acquisition complements Thales's helmet-mounted sight and display systems for helicopters and fixed-wing aircraft, and will help Thales offer HMD technology, company officials say.
Thales Visionix will develop motion tracking systems marketed under the brand name InterSense for HMD products.
Thales Visionix Inc. operates under a proxy agreement with the U.S. Department of Defense, and will maintain its locations in Aurora, Ill., and Billerica, Mass., company officials say.
The current management team remains in place. For more information contact Thales USA online at www.thalesgroup.com.
