Mouser stocks NXP i.MX RT1180 crossover microcontrollers for industrial networking applications
MANSFIELD - Mouser Electronics of Mansfield, Texas, announced it is now stocking the i.MX RT1180 crossover microcontrollers from NXP Semiconductors of Eindhoven, Netherlands.
The dual-core microcontrollers combine an Arm Cortex-M7 processor operating at up to 800 MHz with a Cortex-M33 core operating at up to 300 MHz. The devices are designed for industrial and building automation, robotics, motion control, motor drives, programmable logic controllers, remote I/O systems, and Internet of Things applications.
The i.MX RT1180 family includes industrial gateway capabilities supporting PROFINET, EtherCAT, EtherNet/IP, and other industrial real-time networking protocols. The devices also support time-sensitive networking through an integrated Ethernet switch subsystem and include 1.5 MB of on-chip RAM protected by error-correcting code.
According to Mouser, the microcontrollers incorporate an integrated power-management module with DC-DC and low-dropout regulators to simplify external power supply design and power-sequencing requirements.
Security features include an integrated EdgeLock Secure Enclave, physical unclonable function technology, on-the-fly AES decryption, a trusted resource domain controller, a battery-backed security module, and an inline encryption engine.
The microcontrollers support an operating temperature range of -40 to 125 degrees Celsius.
Also available from Mouser are the MIMXRT1180-EVK evaluation kit and the FRDM-IMXRT1186 development board, which provide development platforms for evaluating the devices' processing, networking, and security features. The company also offers the Remote I/O Platform kit for prototyping data-acquisition and multi-protocol industrial connectivity applications based on the i.MX RT1180 family.
