Curtiss-Wright introduces rugged PacStar 810 edge server

The PacStar 810 is built around an AMD EPYC 64-core processor with up to 1 terabyte of DDR5 memory, 240 terabytes of removable NVMe storage, and a high-performance GPU with 96 gigabytes of GDDR7 memory.

ASHBURN, Va. - Curtiss-Wright Defense Solutions in Ashburn, Va., has introduced the PacStar 810, a rugged, man-portable server designed to bring high-performance computing, artificial intelligence, machine learning, communications processing, and data analytics to tactical edge applications.

The PacStar 810 is built around an AMD EPYC 64-core processor with up to 1 terabyte of DDR5 memory, 240 terabytes of removable NVMe storage, and a high-performance GPU with 96 gigabytes of GDDR7 memory. The system also provides 25-gigabit Ethernet networking, IPMI remote management, and integrated UPS battery hold-up.

The approximately 20-pound system is designed for mobile data centers, expeditionary command posts and vehicle platforms, as well as applications involving virtualization, network processing and real-time multisensory data analytics. Curtiss-Wright designed the server to support static and on-the-move tactical networks and applications that require local data processing for rapid decision-making.

The PacStar 810 is compatible with Curtiss-Wright's existing PacStar ecosystem, including the PacStar Smart Chassis and PacStar 400- and 200-Series products. The rugged short-depth chassis is designed to meet MIL-STD-810 environmental and MIL-STD-461 electromagnetic compatibility requirements for operation in extended temperatures and conditions involving shock, vibration, and humidity.

The PacStar 810 is the first product in Curtiss-Wright's new PacStar 800 product line.
