COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Executives of Radiation Test Solutions Inc. in Colorado Springs, Colo., are buying Cobham RAD Inc. in Colorado Springs, Colo., to boost the company's expertise in test and measurement for space electronics.
Radiation Test Solutions has reached an agreement with Cobham Advanced Electronic Solutions to purchase Cobham RAD Inc., a premiere provider of military standard radiation effects test services, heavy ion single event effects (SEE) testing, device preparation service prior to test, device screening and element evaluation, and quick-turn prototype integrated circuit (IC) assembly.
The Radiation Test Solutions acquisition of Cobham RAD greatly increases its ability to provide services and support to companies designing radiation-hardened electronic components for space.
The acquisition will help Radiation Test Solutions support increasing demand for space-based testing services and satellite analysis, says Malcolm Thomson, president of Radiation Test Solutions.
The acquiring company has retained the staff of Cobham RAD and will continue to operate out of the former 35,000-square-foot Cobham RAD facility in Colorado Springs, Colo.
Radiation Test Solutions specializes in radiation effects test and spacecraft analysis, and offers gamma irradiation, neutron displacement damage, single-event effects and Flash X-Ray/Prompt Dose testing.
