CAMARILLO, Calif., 11 Feb. 2013. Cooper Interconnect, a provider of harsh-environment interconnect solutions, has added Dixie Aerospace as a global distributor for aviation ground power products.
Dixie Aerospace will sell Cooper Interconnect's Titan Ground Power 400-hertz (Hz) cables and adapters, as well as Burton Series of 28 volts DC, 270 volts DC, and 400-hertz receptacles, cables, and adapters.
"Dixie Aerospace will be stocking Cooper Interconnect's ground-power products in Peachtree City, Ga.;Miami, Fla.; Amsterdam; and Singapore," says Steve Jones, Cooper Interconnect's Aviation Ground Power marketing manager.
Cooper Interconnect's ground-power brands have been providing aircraft power cables and receptacles to airports and OEMs since 1946. Cooper Interconnect's latest generation of cables and adapters includes:
Floating pin/socket assemblies, designed to reduce the force needed to insert plugs and adapters and increase the service life of airframe-mounted power receptacles;
Plugs and adapters, designed to withstand over 2,500 pounds of force and survive impacts from heavy equipment and aircraft;
Field-replaceable adapters, less than 50 percent of the cost of aircraft power cable refurbishments.
