NORTH BILLERICA, Mass. – Diamond USA Inc. in North Billerica Mass., is announcing that its Mini-AVIM fiber optic connector has been added to the European Space Component Coordination (ESCC) Qualified Parts List (QPL).
In addition, Diamond is now listed as a preferred European Space Agency (ESA) provider for fiber optic components.
The Diamond Mini-AVIM connector was developed following a market request for a smaller and lighter version of the Diamond AVIM connector, especially for space applications.
The Mini-AVIM connector combines two technologies: the AVIM MIL style ratchet system and the base construction of the Diamond Micro Interface (DMI) connector.
The Mini-AVIM is aligned in rotation and can be used for standard SM and MM fibers, as well as for PM technologies and multi-fiber ferrules. In addition, Diamond's Power Solution (PS) technology can also be incorporated into this connector.
