LONG BEACH, Calif. -- Companies interested in supplying software technologies for the U.S. Army's Future Combat System (FCS) System of Systems Common Operating Environment (SOSCOE) should attend a series of industry briefings May 26 at the Westin in Long Beach, Calif.

Conducting the briefings will be experts from the Boeing Co. and Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC), the FCS lead systems integrators.

The SOSCOE will support several FCS mission-critical software applications independently and simultaneously. This software helps integrate separate software packages, independent of their location, connectivity mechanism, and the technology used to develop them.

The open-systems SOSCOE uses commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) hardware and an operating environment that complies to the Joint Tactical ArchitectureArmy for real-time, near-real-time, and non-real-time applications. The software also contains administrative applications for login service, startup, logoff, erase, memory zeroize, alert/emergency restart and monitoring/control.

The SOSCOE helps translate Army, joint-forces, and coalition formats to native, internal FCS message formats using a common-format translation service. More information about the SOSCOE is online at www.boeing.com/ids/soscoe/about.htm.

At the industry day briefings May 26, Boeing and SAIC experts are interesting in hearing from potential software suppliers on topics such as distributed database-data store technology; Web services; white board technology; agent technology; inference engines; and search engines.

The Westin is at 333 East Ocean Blvd., Long Beach, Calif. Companies interested in attending the industry briefings must complete and e-mail a supplier information sheet to Carolyn Eubanks at [email protected] by May 2, 2005.

The supplier information sheet is available online at www.boeing.com/ids/soscoe/SupplierInformationSheet.doc.

For more information, also contact Carolyn Eubanks by phone at 714-372-6771.
