Signal and power connectors for demanding applications like energy storage introduced by Amphenol
Summary points:
- Amphenol Industrial Operations introduces Floating Mate connectors supporting up to 120 amps and as much as 1,500 volts DC for energy storage, EV, and plug-in hybrid applications.
- Three models (2+12, 4+12, and 4+12 Mini) combine high-voltage power pins with as many as 12 signal pins, reducing misalignment during blind mating with built-in guide pins.
- Featuring RADSOK technology, -40 to 125 C operation, 100+ mating cycles, and compliance with UL 4128, TUV 2PfG2740, and IEC 61984 standards.
ENDICOTT, N.Y. – Amphenol Industrial Operations in Endicott, N.Y., is introducing the compact Floating Mate connector series high-current floating mate power connectors for demanding applications in energy storage, electric vehicles, and plug-in hybrid vehicles.
This series of power connectors offers three models that integrate power and signal transmission, while reducing misalignment during blind mating.
Optimized for compact power applications that handle as much as 120 amps, these rugged, high-current floating mate connectors incorporate Amphenol's industry-leading RADSOK technology for solid power terminal performance.
Power and signal options
Three floating mate connectors offer a range of power and signal options. The 2+12 has two power pins that handle 1,000 volts DC, and 12 signaling pins that handle 200 volts DC; the 4+12 with four power pins that handle 1,000 volts DC, and 12 signaling pins that handle 200 volts DC; and the 4+12 Mini with four power pins that handle 1,500 volts DC, with 12 signaling pins that handle 300 volts DC.
Guide pins on the connectors help to correct misalignment during blind mating. Optional removal tools for the power and signal pins as well as an optional floating mount that reduces fatiguing stress on connectors during blind mating are available.
Each connector is rated for more than 100 mating and unmating cycles, with an operating temperature range of -40 to 125 Celsius, and crimp termination. The series is certified to UL 4128, TUV 2PfG2740, and IEC 61984, and has a 94 V-0 flammability rating.
