CAMARILLO, Calif. – Advanced Photonix Inc. in Camarillo, Calif., is introducing compact and rugged large-area avalanche photodiodes (LAAPDs) for aerospace, defense, medical, and industrial applications.

The LAAPDs are available in sizes from 3, 5, 10, to 16 millimeters active area diameters. The devices operate at power levels to 2000 volts with gains of to 300 volts.

With low noise levels and high stable gain, the electro-optical photodiodes come in cooled or uncooled packages.

The large-area avalanche photodiodes are available with high sensitivity in blue, red, or deep ultraviolet spectral regions down to 150 nanometers with 100 percent quantum efficiency.

They are for scintillation or direct X-ray detection applications. For more information contact Advanced Photonix online at www.advancedphotonix.com.
