With its aquisition of Rockwell Collins finalized, United Technologies to announce its future plans

NEW YORK CITY, N.Y. – United Technologies is breaking itself into three independent companies now that it has sealed its $23 billion acquisition of aviation electronics maker Rockwell Collins. The company's announcement Monday was the latest by a sprawling industrial conglomerate deciding it will be more efficient and focused as smaller, separate entities, reports The Des Moines Register.

November 27, 2018 -- By spinning off into three companies, United Technologies will continue its focus on aerospace and defense while allowing the two other groups to focus on elevators and HVAC. The absorption of Rockwell Collins into United Technologies would have had combined sales of approximately $39 billion last year, according to UT.
