SAN DIEGO – TDK-Lambda Americas Inc. in San Diego is introducing the rugged DTM65-D external power supplies for a variety of mission- and life-critical applications like medical diagnostic and monitoring equipment.

These power supplies meet the U.S. Department of Energy Level VI and EU Tier 2 v5 standards for efficiency and off-load power, as well as the medical IEC 60601-1 standards for hospital, dental, and health care applications.

The convection-cooled DTM65-D comes in a rugged vent-free enclosure that measures 132 by 69 by 40 millimeters, with AC applied through the standard IEC 60320-C14 3-prong socket.

The output DC cable has a 4-pin Power-DIN connector as standard, with other connector types available. The adapters also feature over-voltage and over-current protection.

Accepting a 90 to 264 volts AC input, the 40 to 65-Watt adapters are available with 5-, 1-2, 15-, 19-, 24-V, 28-, 36-, and 48-volt outputs and can operate in ambient temperatures from -20 to 60 degrees Celsius, derating linearly to 50 percent load from 40 to 60 C. The power supplies have an off-load power consumption of less than 0.15 Watts.

The DTM65-D series has been certified to ANSI/AAMI ES 60601-1, CAN/CSA-C22.2 No. 60601-1-08, IEC/EN 60601-1, and carries the CE mark for the Low Voltage, EMC and RoHS2 Directives. All models meet IEC60601-1-2 Ed4:2014, EN55011 Class B, FCC Part 18 Class B emissions and immunity standards.

Input to ground isolation is 1,500 volts AC, input to output 4,000 volts AC, output to ground 1,500 volts AC, with a touch current of less than 100 microamps and a leakage current of less than 300 microamps. All models are suitable for BF rated equipment and can be operated up to an altitude of 5,000 meters.
